My Project

Understanding the world around us is a valuable theme taught all throughout the school year in PreK. My young learners are just beginning to be aware of their surroundings outside of their family and home. Teaching a positive idea of what community represents can be achieved with these hands-on learning materials.

Community helpers represented through block play and puzzles, allows students to role play and engage with one another.

Pretending to be a member of a community brings understanding to the importance of treating others with respect and kindness. My class is full of diversity, representing many cultures and languages. Teaching the importance of everyone in a community, builds a sense of belonging for all my students.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
