My Students

It has been a very difficult, stressful transition to distant learning online with my students since March 13, 2020. I have a diverse group of students ranging from first grade to fifth grade, all deaf and hard of hearing. Their backgrounds and home life are also very diverse. Some come from deaf families with deaf parents (had language since birth), while others have hearing parents that speak English or Arabic at home (with limited signing skills). There have been major language barriers we have had to overcome (and still overcoming) to get the students their one to one devices our district is passing out currently. Teaching them how to log-in to numerous platforms has been a struggle to say the least, but it is getting better each day. There is hope and a rainbow at the end of this journey, right?! With your help, I know there will be!

My Project

Distant learning has been difficult overall for my students and me. Technology has been a friend and an enemy during this time away from the classroom. It appears to be the same for my student's families, as well. To help, while we are fighting with our computers, iPads, phones, etc. I have been printing and mailing worksheets for my students to work on. I have used a lot of ink during these last several weeks and am in need of more.

In order to continue their learning from afar, ink is necessary for me to reach them.

Please help me during this time of need so I can mail work to my students.
