My Project

Hi there, I am seeking help to enhance both the learning environment and daily experiences of my 16 students at our Title I school. Our diverse classroom community thrives on collaboration, movement, and opportunities to learn in ways that meet all individual needs. By providing flexible seating and engaging indoor activities, I can help create a classroom space that is comfortable, inclusive, and energizing for every learner.

This year, we have experienced many indoor recess days due to New England’s unpredictable and often harsh weather.

During these times, my students line up to use our small tabletop foosball game — it has quickly become a favorite. They beg for turns because it keeps them active, working as a team, and excited during a part of the day that can otherwise feel boring and confined. I would love to expand our selection of tabletop sports-style games so more students can participate at once. These games would encourage teamwork, positive competition, and much-needed physical activity, even when we are stuck inside.

In addition, I hope to purchase back pillows to provide flexible and comfortable floor seating during independent reading, partner work, and small group instruction. Many of my students do their best thinking and collaborating on the rug, but they need proper support to remain focused and comfortable for extended periods of time. Providing back pillows will not only increase comfort, but also promote engagement, stamina, and a positive learning atmosphere where all students feel supported and ready to succeed.
