Independence Skill Builders Need Replacing

My students need a stove, microwave, washer, and dryer in order to continue their independent living skills courses.

My Students

My students are part of a special education class in their high school. They learn everything from math, science, history, and language arts to independent living skills, social skills, and job skills in my classroom.

Students with special needs are preparing for the rest of their lives and could use an extra leg up in their education.

It takes many of them extra time and effort to learn needed life skills. The proper tools can help them to reach their goals.

My Project

My students come with many unique needs. They need more time to learn new skills than the average student. We work with them to give them extra time and support in order to learn life skills. This also gives them added confidence in their daily lives and with their peers.

Learning important life skills helps my students to be more independent.

Our dishwasher, microwave, and washing machine have given out on us this year. The dryer and stove are soon to follow. It's a big expense, so I thought I would request these important appliances out there and see what we could come up with. We need a dryer, a washer, an oven and microwave.

My students will continue to learn how to prepare meals independently and to sort, wash, fold, and put away laundry. We want to thank you in advance for any donations that we receive.
