Increase Access to Technology

Help me give my students reliable access to technology, so that we can explore physics through online simulations, write like scientists, and conduct rigorous research in AP Seminar

My Students

Our students are bright, motivated, often (but not always) drawn to a future in STEM, and strong-willed. Students come to our school from all over the city of Boston for a challenging yet supportive public school environment.

Students care deeply for their community and have high expectations for their futures.

Students work hard to make it to our school, but often struggle adjusting to the rigorous workload and more independent learning expected of them. The most vital work students do here is in building independence, learning from failure and relinquishing the fear of being wrong.

My Project

As technology becomes more ubiquitous and future careers require 21st century technology skills, access becomes more and more important. Currently, our entire science department shares one chromebook cart, making in-the-moment adjustments to lessons a challenge.

In Physics, we use chromebooks to collaborate as we analyze data together, synthesize evidence to support scientific claims, and explore physics concepts that are fascinating but difficult to replicate in a high school classroom.

In AP Seminar, students conduct academic research as they explore personally relevant topics. This is a unique opportunity for our 10th graders, and could not be possible without consistent access to computers.
