My Project

2nd graders are always working on being intrinsically motivated. In our classroom, we use extrinsic motivation to fuel discussions around what intrinsic motivation is and how we build it internally and throughout our classroom. Our prize bin allows students to see an extrinsic motivator as their end goal which helps fuel their focus and hard work. Prizes that appeal to student interests are key to keeping students excited.

Working on building intrinsic motivation can be difficult but the addition of an extrinsic motivator allows the conversation to begin organically.

These prizes will be used in my current 2nd-grade classroom along with future classes!
