My Students

I teach second grade at a wonderful public school in North Carolina. We are a Title I school. I absolutely love my job and enjoy watching my students grow both socially and academically each year. The 2nd-grade​ year in school is a huge one for students to become proficient with reading.

Students in 2nd grade have had two years of learning to read and now they are ready for reading to learn.

I love teaching 2nd grade and love being part of their educational journey. They teach me as much as I teach them.

My Project

My students love to have something fun to look forward to when completing academic tasks. My students are required to do iReady lessons in class and once they fill up a class chart, I want to be able to give them a prize for working so hard. To earn a prize, they have to get a 100 on either their Math or Reading iReady lesson, then they get to put a check mark on the chart. Once the chart gets filled up in both subjects, the students will get to choose from one of these awesome prizes. My students really enjoy the sensory, fidget toys so I thought this would be a perfect incentive for them after reaching their iReady goals.
