Improving the Environment Around Us

Help me give my students my students outdoor trash cans to improve the environment around our school.

My Project

As a community service event, my students went outside and helped pickup trash outside. With the weather turning nice, we find that more classes are outside. During our efforts to clean up the environment, we realized that there are NO trashcans outside of our school. Part of our community service is teaching other students to not litter, but we need to give them a place for their trash. This project is for out door trash cans to help with these community project efforts to help the planet.

My students are really passionate about reducing the amount of litter in the environment and they see that they can make a difference in cleaning up our field, which has a stream next to it.

Everyone loves a community service project where they can see the difference they have made immediately. My students have said that not only can they help the planet immediately through picking up trash, but they will also be raising awareness of the issue of liter and the environment impact of trash. This will be a community service project that immediately improves the surrounding school community, but also have a long term impact in helping the community improve its behavior and attitude about trash and keeping our environment clean.
