This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The requested items for the calming corner in my social studies classroom include a Cricut Maker 3 Machine Bundle, a seating arrangement, cube storage organizers, fabric storage bins, a lift-top coffee table with hidden storage, an ergonomic office chair, LED lights, a rolling storage cart, a wooden literature organizer, pillow inserts, board games, premium vinyl, a carrying case for Cricut accessories, mechanical pencils, a label maker, a corner shelf, a mini basketball hoop, card games, an electric pencil sharpener, a wooden digital alarm clock, chess and card game packs, a network switch, an electric wax melt warmer, a wall clock, label tapes, cutting mats for Cricut, inspirational throw pillow covers, strategy board games, fine point pens for Cricut, waterproof playing cards, a wooden box sign, Tic Tac Toe mini board games, a kitchen timer, and Nebula playing cards. These items aim to create a comfortable and inviting space for students, promoting relaxation, focus, and social-emotional development. The diverse range of supplies will contribute to a positive learning environment, enhancing both the physical and emotional aspects of the classroom.

Additionally, the calming corner will feature a 15-drawer rolling storage cart for organizing craft supplies, a wooden corner shelf for displaying plants and flowers, a 130ft ultra-long LED strip light with Bluetooth control for customizable room ambiance, a wooden desk organizer with removable mail sorter, and 18x18 throw pillow covers with inspirational quotes for added comfort and encouragement.

The inclusion of classic board games like Sorry!, Yahtzee, Connect 4, and card game sets encourages social interaction and strategic thinking among students. The presence of a mini basketball hoop and other entertaining games such as Spot It! and Shut The Box provides opportunities for students to unwind and engage in leisure activities.
