Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Help our students become immersed in learning. Technology is on the frontline in education. Students are using it daily. It is no longer an optional resource that students can use with only special lessons. That is why I am requesting a class set of ClassVR Headsets to help keep my students immersed in learning using technology.

The ClassVR Headset will keep learning fun, exciting, and engaging!

Students today don’t know a world without technology, but they need to experience what the future holds for technology. By using a ClassVR as a resource, students will be able to learn through technology as well as learn about technology. Imagine your students learning about the human heart while holding it in their hand, or learning about the rainforest while walking through it. There are so many avenues the ClassVR could guide students through when otherwise they would have just looked up the information. Often times when students are only following along from paper or one screen, you have at least 30% of the students not following along. With the ClassVR more students will be engaged in the lesson.

With a complete class set, I will be able to guide an entire class through a lesson together. For example, students may be reading the Novel Treasure Island, as a class, we would tour a pirate ship to learn about the ship, or visit a coastal area to visually see what it is like to live close to the water. With the Avantis World Class VR headsets, there are hundreds of lessons ready to use. The ClassVR will offer students a way to become engaged with any lesson. I am hoping that through this project students will easily learn content, increase their interest in technology, and see how technology is advancing.
