My students were super excited to see the new equipment. We have been discussing the possibilities for in the textile industry. The students know all the shops in which individuals sell their products. They even shared a lot about some of the items their parents have bought for them. We can easily see how the industry is growing and how there are countless possibilities for products. We have gone to the drawing board and they have a lot of ideas even though they know the biggest selling products are t-shirts. However, they like the idea of making decals and signs for small businesses. Therefore students are now getting started with ads to show off their work to get some customers. The students are always so excited to get their work items in color. Saturating our classroom with as many colorful items helps to remove the mundane day to day appearance of assignments. \r\n\r\nWe have created and printed resources for cards to hand out to the community, made life size scrabble tiles to play games with in our classroom and task cards for our quick build STEM station, just to name a few things. With the remaining supplies, some students had the opportunity to make another mug. I hope that this experience leaves a lasting memory with my students. My students were so excited to receive this item. None of the students in my class had ever seen anything like it. They were most excited that they actually got a chance to operate the machine while we printed Mother's Day gifts. Each child was able to program the 3D printer to print 1 over several chosen items as a gift for their mothers. I am looking forward to extending 3D printing lesson this year with my new students. They all were very intrigued about it as soon as they walked into the classroom.
