Imagine & Create: An After-School Art Club

My Project

Every child deserves a place where their imagination can flourish.

This year, I am excited to begin "Imagine & Create Art Club", an after-school opportunity where elementary students can explore watercolor, collage, printmaking, drawing, and mixed-media art in a welcoming and encouraging environment.

Many of our students love creating but have limited opportunities to experiment with a variety of art materials. Through this club, they'll discover new techniques, solve creative challenges, and learn that there isn't just one "right" way to make art. They'll be encouraged to take risks, try new ideas, and celebrate their own unique creativity.

The supplies requested for this project will help us build a collection of materials that students can use throughout the year. Watercolor paints, brushes, quality paper, drawing pens, collage materials, and printmaking tools will allow young artists to explore, create, and grow in confidence.

Our local community is already helping by donating recyclable collage materials, allowing us to stretch every donated dollar. Funding from this project will provide the high-quality art tools and foundational supplies that students will use again and again, while community donations add unique textures, colors, and inspiration to their artwork.

Art is about so much more than making something beautiful. It teaches perseverance, problem-solving, observation, and self-expression. It gives students a place to slow down, imagine, and experience the joy of creating.
