My Project

I teach students in grades 7-12. All of my students are in state custody and waiting for placement in foster care or a program. Students attend my classroom while living in a group home. Students may be in my classroom anywhere from a few days to a few months and often return multiple times throughout the school year. Students are in my classroom all day, and my team-teacher and I teach various subjects daily.

Due to the fact that my students are in state custody and the nature of the facility, my classroom, and my students' needs are changing on a daily basis.

I need to be able to create engaging opportunities quickly that cater to specific interests. I want my students to be able to experience learning with technology and hands-on experiences in my classroom.

iPads would allow me to give students new opportunities and help with differentiation in core and elective courses. Students can utilize iPads for learning and creativity. Specifically, students love the ability to explore artistic talents on iPads through various apps designed for drawing, painting, animation, and graphic design. They can sketch and illustrate using apps like Procreate, create digital paintings with realistic brushes and textures, experiment with colors and shapes, and even incorporate multimedia elements like photos and videos into their artwork.

For animation, students can use apps to create frame-by-frame animations or motion graphics, learning movement principles and storytelling in a digital format. Graphic design apps like Canva allow students to design posters, logos, and digital graphics, applying principles of composition, typography, and visual communication.

iPads will provide my students a versatile platform to unleash their creativity and explore the endless possibilities of digital art and other learning opportunities.
