My classroom serves 7-12th grade students who are in state custody and are awaiting a foster placement. My students are experiencing active trauma and are often emotionally dysregulated. My goal is to provide a safe environment where students can grow a love of learning during a turbulent time in their lives. Due to the nature of the facility, my classroom and my students' needs change on a daily basis. I need to be able to create engaging opportunities quickly and catered to specific interests. I want my students to be able to experience learning with technology and hands on experiences in my classroom. Students need technology to keep up with the demands of the skills needed in the workplace today. Hands on learning provides students with richer and more meaningful learning. Classroom supplies to provide these experiences are the key! I love seeing the amazing things my students are capable of each day!
