This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students may be young, but they are intellectual scholars always aiming to learn new and exciting ways of doing things. In an IB program, we focus a lot of time on facilitating our students learning through transdisciplinary teaching including hands on projects and STEM activities. Never is there a time where content is being taught in isolation, but instead with also teaching students the essential elements to be productive citizens in today's society. With this challenging environment, my students' minds and brains are moving at fast speeds.

We are need of classroom sets of headphones to make our learning more functional in the short amount of time we have each day (70 minutes per block).

During this time, I want my young scientists and mathematicians to engage in work through technology to better equip them for our future in the 21st century.

My Project

My students are 1:1 with devices. I often times have some sort of technology component incorporated into my daily teaching that requires students to watch and/or listen to things online independently. Often times they forget their headphones at home or have broken them and then cannot do their assignment. These headphones would remain in class to prevent this from happening.

Headphones in class will allow all students to complete their assignments on time and fully engage in the learning experience.

These will allow them to pause as needed instead of waiting for the whole class to finish.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
