My Project

My classroom is full of energetic, enthusiastic children who are in love with exploring the world around them in unique ways. I teach kindergarten, looping up to first grade, in a free, public Reggio-Emilia-inspired lab school that is a collaboration between our school and a local university. We serve the entire city of Indianapolis. Our students start school with a variety of backgrounds and a variety of educational experiences.

As a kindergarten/first-grade looping teacher, my goal is for children to have an opportunity for engaging experiences with technology in our classroom.

During the pandemic, our students were given an iPad to connect to our classroom community and learn at home. We now have yearly expectations to use learning apps on the iPads. I ask parents to send in headphones at the beginning of the year to help children focus and cut down on the noise from the music or sounds from 26 iPads.

Each year, headphones break or only a few children have headphones to use. I am hoping to get a class set of headphones to provide to children needing headphones during the day.
