Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

It is the beginning of 2023 and I know my students are excited to finish this school year strong. It has almost been 3 years since COVID-19 has made an impact on everyone, especially kids. Within those 3 years, some of the students are not as motivated to complete objectives and following school and classroom expectations. With the group of students I have, COVID-19 impacted their lives while they were in 2nd grade and some did not acquire some life skills to apply in the school setting.

My plan is to incorporate incentives to motivate students' performance academically and physically.

I will write the students' name on the popsicle sticks and color coordinate it based on classes and randomly choose a student to complete a simple task if they would like. I will have material and tasks for them to complete like wiping down the desk with the Clorox wipes or placing pencils in the pencil holders on the desk. Every task completed, they will be able to write their name to win a prize each week, which includes the scratch notes and bookmarks.
