This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

More students than ever are coming to school hungry stating they are thirsty and hungry. Teachers like myself have been mostly funding these snacks from our paychecks, but as more and more families become food insecure, I am unable to keep up with the demand.

It’s hard to learn on an empty stomach, listening to your stomach growling over the day’s lessons.

Help me provide my students with the nutritional support they need in order to get their brains primed for learning. Healthy snacks such as breakfast bars, crackers, fruit snacks, fruit cups, and bottled water I have chosen are popular with students and are the most often requested during class.
