I teach in a very poor village school. The majority of the students here are below grade level in basic reading and/or math skills. My job is centered around special needs and interventions for students in K-8th grades.

Students here are faced with harsh realities of life in a tiny village. Many families work seasonally in local industries to make ends meet, as well as live off the land and its resources to provide for their children. The school here is the center of the community and is the one stable place for many students.

The students need new and better resources to stay motivated to increase their basic skills to grade level. The Hot Dot cards and pens give the students the sense of "having fun" while working hard on basic skills in math and reading.

With these materials, every student here will have the opportunity to gain mastery of math facts, concepts, and reading comprehension strategies. Your help will provide for them the motivation and encouragement they need to improve their skills and enhance their learning experience.
