For this project, I'm hoping to put miniature home toys into the hands of our students so they can play and imagine around the big ideas of self and family. I can accomplish this with a dollhouse and furniture.
Social-emotional learning is at the heart of our early childhood education program goals.
When young kids play with toys that represent home and family, they are exploring the vital emotions and actions that connect them to their first and primary community.
When they collaborate with peers to build and play imaginative family games, they're creating interactions that help them expand their sense of community to the world outside the home--right here at school!
