Holocaust Memoirs!

Help me give my students Graphic Novels to learn a variety of Holocaust Memoirs!

My Project

When students begin their deep dive of the Holocaust, they are always shocked to learn about this atrocity because they realize that this is not just some distant history - it actually impacted real people. We begin these learning by delving into the Novel Night. I would like for my students to follow up their studies with a variety of graphic novels, specifically memoirs.

When students read these memoirs, the historical events come alive, and more importantly, the lessons we learn from these events become accessible.

Reading Maus, Persepolis, and They Called Us Enemies will help students make connections to this hard history of our world, and will inspire students to make sure that something like the Holocaust never happens again. This experience engages students civically. Additionally, having these graphic novels for my students will not only encourage the to read but also make them feel as if the content is more accessible to thier reading abilities.
