My Project

My students are curious, creative, and full of potential. They come into my U.S. History classroom with diverse backgrounds, unique perspectives, and powerful voices that deserve to be heard. What I love most about them is their willingness to ask questions about the past and connect it to the world they live in today.

As we approach Quarter 4, my students will complete a culminating project that brings together everything they have learned throughout the year.

Working in collaborative groups, they will create tri-fold presentation boards that visually and analytically showcase major themes, events, and movements in U.S. History.

The tri-fold boards will allow students to organize research, display sources, design timelines and maps, and present cause-and-effect relationships in a structured and visually engaging format. These materials will help transform our classroom into an interactive gallery walk where students present their work, ask questions, and engage in meaningful academic discussions. The boards provide the physical space students need to think critically, design creatively, and communicate clearly.

Through this project, students will strengthen essential skills such as collaboration, historical analysis, and visual storytelling. Each group member will take on a specific role—researcher, designer, presenter, or discussion leader—ensuring accountability and shared responsibility. The hands-on materials will allow them to bring history to life in ways that textbooks alone cannot.

This culminating gallery walk will not only highlight academic achievement but also foster community within our classroom. Students will reflect on how community support makes projects like this possible and how collective effort leads to meaningful learning experiences.
