My Project

My students are curious, creative, and full of potential. Many of them come into 6th grade still building confidence in reading, note-taking, and studying independently, but they are eager to learn when lessons feel engaging and accessible. They love hands-on activities, class discussions, simulations, and opportunities to connect history to real life.

When students are given the right support and resources, they rise to the challenge and become excited about learning about ancient civilizations and world cultures.

In our classroom, we study topics such as Ancient Egypt, Greece, Rome, China, the Islamic Empires, and Medieval Europe. Students learn through reading, writing, analyzing evidence, creating projects, and participating in collaborative activities. However, many students struggle with textbook-heavy materials or finding information organized in a way they can truly understand.

The book, "Everything You Need to Ace World History in One Big Fat Notebook" would be an incredible resource for my students because it presents important world history concepts in a student-friendly, visually engaging format. The notes, diagrams, vocabulary, and summaries break down difficult topics into manageable pieces that help students better understand and retain information. These books will support classroom instruction, help students review independently, and give them a reliable resource they can use throughout the year.

Having class copies available means all students, regardless of their reading level or access to resources at home, will be able to engage with the material more confidently. These books will help strengthen reading comprehension, vocabulary development, note-taking skills, and historical understanding while making social studies feel less intimidating and more enjoyable.
