High School/Middle School Baseball

My students need 2 sets of baseball materials to complete our baseball field that does not have an fence for our team.

My Students

Our baseball team has been trying to raise money to put a fence in our outfield because of the lack of funding in our school, but so much of our other equipment has aged and needs replacing. Our field is in bad shape and our team would really have a confidence booster with this new addition.

My baseball team has been building up for the last couple of years now.

They have been working really hard trying to make a name for our school. We are a low income school and funding for our sports program is impossible with the troubled economy. My team has been putting their own time in trying to make our field look good so other schools will stop putting them down due to our struggling field. It would be nice if they could have something to be proud of.

My Project

I know this funding would go to sports and not in the classroom, but the attitude of the school would greatly change with an addition to our sports program. We are now a team that can make play-offs and potentially win a state title. With the addition of a fence in the outfield, my team which is made of power hitters would benefit with this fence because other teams are not as capable of hitting as far as we can. With this fence our power hitters could land home runs instead of doubles or triples. Last year we made playoffs and had we purchased a fence, we would have advanced to the next round. But because of the absence of the fence we lost the game. We really need a positive energy at our school right now due to the loss in numbers and low budget we are faced with. A title win for our school would greatly increase the positive attitude around the building.

As a teacher and a coach, I know that by adding a fence, the attitude towards the school would change in and out of the classroom.

The pride of the school has been dwindling because of lack of funding. It really doesn't take much at this point to make our students smile and appreciate new additions to our school. I would really appreciate if someone out there could help us out with our baseball team/school spirit. This I know would have a great impact on our students.
