This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from various economic and ethnic backgrounds. Many face the hardships of raising siblings, securing jobs, and even homelessness on top of the already present stress of being teenagers.

They are resilient, determined young men and woman who want to secure a better future for themselves.

My Project

The supplies I have requested will make a huge difference in our classroom. The large Post-it pads will provide resources for proudly displaying research projects and presentations. Construction paper, pencils, and Sharpie markers will provide materials for flashcards, to aid in learning advanced medical terms.

Granola bars and water help students stay focused, full, and hydrated.

Facial tissues are always needed in the classroom, especially during cold/flu season.

Sanitary products and Band-Aids in the classroom cut down loss of instructional time due to the nurse being in a different building across campus.

Blow pops are a great way of treating and rewarding students for a job well done.
