Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Many students across our grade level need additional support with foundational reading skills such as phonemic awareness, decoding, blending, and fluency. To meet these needs, four teachers will use UFLI Foundations manuals to provide targeted small-group intervention throughout the entire grade. Our district currently does not provide these manuals, despite UFLI being a proven, research-based phonics program aligned with the Science of Reading. By equipping multiple teachers with these resources, we will be able to consistently support struggling and beginning readers across classrooms, helping students build confidence, close learning gaps, and develop the strong literacy foundation they need for long-term success.
