My Project

My fourth-grade students are curious, hardworking, and bring unique strengths and perspectives into our classroom every day. They love sharing ideas, making connections to stories, and learning about the world around them. I love seeing their excitement when they become invested in a book and begin to see themselves as readers. Each student enters the classroom with different experiences and reading abilities, but they all deserve opportunities to engage with meaningful and exciting texts.

Class sets of chapter books will provide my students with shared reading experiences that build comprehension, vocabulary, fluency, and critical thinking skills.

Having enough books for every student allows us to read together, participate in meaningful discussions, practice important reading strategies, and collaborate with peers. These resources will help strengthen their confidence as readers while fostering a love of reading that can extend far beyond the classroom. By putting engaging books into their hands, students will have opportunities to connect with stories, grow academically, and develop lifelong reading habits.
