My Students

My students create a very diverse place to learn and grow with many of them coming from different ethnicities and backgrounds. A majority of our students live below the poverty line with around 80% of our student population receiving free and reduced lunch. That being said, our students are determined and motivated to achieve regardless of their circumstances.

Their perseverance is truly inspiring.

They are all bright and active learners. My students love to collaborate with one another and move around the room. I teach multiple classes of inclusion social studies and science.

My Project

Many of the students that I work with experience homelessness and do not have their basic needs met such as shelter, clothing, food, and personal hygiene items. Because of their home lives, many of my students do not receive items that they need as they reach puberty and are sometimes ostracized by their classmates because of it.

For this project,​ I am simply requesting deodorant sticks to help provide for my students that are struggling with personal hygiene.

This way my students that are not receiving the items that they need at home can come to school and have this simple personal hygiene item that many of us take for granted.
