My Project

Writing and drawing allow children to express their uniqueness and creativity each day. It is very important for our youngest students to develop foundational writing skills, so they can learn to organize and communicate their ideas on paper. This project is asking for essential supplies to help our classroom meet their writing learning needs.

Bright Sharpie pen colors and pencils motivate students to write, and help to build their writing stamina.

The permanent markers and short golf pencils will be very helpful during Writing Workshop, literacy, math, and independent writing time. There are several benefits to using golf pencils in the classroom. Benefits to using golf pencils include promoting a tripod grasp, building stamina and endurance for coloring tasks, and strengthening fine motor skills. Included in this project are also traditional pencils. Traditional pencils tend to be lighter and offer better control, promote wrist and finger movement, and neater handwriting. While all different pencils have drawbacks and benefits, as a teacher, I like students to be able to decide their pencil choice. Students will be able to use these writing supplies while brainstorming and writing their stories.
