My Students

My students love to sing, sing, sing! But how do we find the music we need when it is just in messy piles on a shelf? We need a way to get organized!

I teach music at a diverse Title 1 elementary school in South Carolina.

I teach a total of 21 classes (including special education students mainstreamed into Kindergarten) in music and strive each day to give the best possible music education to every child!

My Project

All of my students sing in their music classes. We use lots of sheet music to teach all of the music education standards each day. It becomes difficult to find the appropriate music for each unit or grade level when it is just sitting in plies on a shelf. If we could use the materials requested in this project to create an organized filing system for our music it would greatly benefit my students. We would know exactly what music is available and where each piece is filed. The envelopes also have a table printed on them to keep track of which pieces are performed each year. This would help us to not repeat a piece two years in a row on a school concert.

My students were fortunate to have been granted a large amount of sheet music through a previous donors choose project.

Please help us keep this music organized and in good condition by contributing to this filing system. This small project will impact all 500 of my students this year and impact THOUSANDS of students in the future. Music and the arts are a vital part of the development and education of the whole child. Please consider making a small donation which will touch so many children.
