My Students

My students are energetic, fun-loving, eager second graders who look forward to coming to school every day. My students face many challenges such as disabilities, lack of supplies, and language barriers because their native language is not English, but despite these challenges, they are eager and ready to learn.

Every day, I strive to meet their various needs in any way that I can.

I try to create an engaging and peaceful work environment so their minds can soar! By making sure they have what they need to be academically successful, safe, healthy, and secure, I am helping them to be as productive as possible.

My students live in a low-income, inner-city neighborhood, and they have struggles at home. It is my job to make sure they are able to accomplish what they wish to in school. One of my goals, as a teacher, is to provide things that my children are lacking and to create a positive learning environment. My students love to experience new things and visit new places such as the many field trips that I take them on. I also try to keep their bellies full and their minds open to learning new things.

My Project

In school this year, students and staff are required to wear masks every day while we are in school. This is proving to be a challenge because some students forget their masks or they break. So far this year I have given out a lot of masks and have not been able to replenish my supply. I am asking for my student and adult masks to have a supply for my students to use when they need one.

These masks will be used by my students to keep them safe while they are in school and out of school.

I chose a variety of different colored masks so that they can choose a color or pattern that they like to wear while also being breathable. This supply will be used to last me for the rest of the school year and possibly into next school year.

The Clorox wipes will be used to clean our desks and tables on a daily basis to try and get rid of germs that could make us sick. This supply will hopefully get us through the rest of this school year.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
