Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our middle school is in a low-income, urban setting. Students come from diverse backgrounds. We have many English Language Learners and special needs students. This is just part of what makes our school so special.

My favorite thing about my students is how eager they are to learn.

School is a safe space where they can explore their potential. My job is to teach students to read and write but they do so much more when they walk through that door. They collaborate, they struggle, and they learn that with hard work they can grow as students and people.

My Project

My classroom library is my pride and joy but it has seen better days. Over the years books go missing or just become outdated. My students have enjoyed reading a lot this year but have requested some new books to spice up our classroom library.

All of these books have been requested by students in my classes.

These are the types of books, authors, and series they want to read. Students who have access to high-interest books are more likely to find something they enjoy.

My goal this year is to fill my classroom library to its former glory. My dream is to have plenty of new titles, a variety of genres and reading levels, and books that my students are excited to read. Please help us fill our shelves!
