My eighth graders are a diverse group: Their reading levels span from elementary to college, some are fluent English speakers while others have just moved to our country. The one thing they all have in common is their goodness and their eagerness to learn and read. Our school is in a high poverty area and most of my students cannot afford school lunch, let alone books. These students rely on the school to support them with resources that they do not have at home. They constantly ask for new things to read and they deserve to be given them.
