Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Do you remember the lonely kid in your school who was always picked for being different?
My students are a unique group of students who are just learning how to deal with their emotions.
Its hard for many of them to express their feeling about being bullied or being the bully. Many of them have been picked on in school for one reason or another and they don't know what to do about it.
My Project
My students need the Bullying in School book along with other titles to help them understand bullying. The Bully-Proof your Classroom kit will allow my students to learn how to deal with bullies they encounter on a daily basis. The small carpet will give my students an area in the classroom where they can go to whenever they have been bullied and feel frustrated or angry about it. There they can use the Moods & Emotion puzzles to express how they feel about what happened. The "What Would You Do? Teaching Kit" will help my students role play the bullying scenarios using the picture cards. The pocket chart and stand will help keep the picture cards organized so that we can discuss the scenarios everyday, which will allow my students to become more confident and know what to do when they face a similar situation.
I want my students to have self-confidence and know what to do when they encounter a bully.
This project will help them learn how to stop bullying and deal with their moods and emotions when they encounter a person that makes them feel bad.
