This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students come to my CTE Carpentry shop ready to learn the practical skills needed to join the workforce when their time in high school is over.

My students absorb all aspects of carpentry from layout to assembly!

We are currently rehabbing flower boxes around our campus. The work requires the students to stage tools and supplies outside of the shop. The yard has no electrical outlets, so we rely on cordless tools to get the job done.

We have 12-volt Bosch drills used daily in the shop for all our drilling tasks. Unfortunately, the 2x10 lumber that we are using to build the flower boxes is too thick. Our 12V drills are not hefty enough to bore through the lumber. The batteries run out of charge frequently, too.

I am asking for a 20V DeWalt cordless drill to make this job more efficient.

The 20V Dewalt will be used to pre-drill the lumber, and the 12V will be used to drive the screws home.

We are all set with batteries for the Dewalt drill. We just need the drill.

Your donation will be used regularly in the build, and we frequently install shelving and complete adaptations that require 20V power.
