Table saws and band saws speed up the process of cutting wood . Hand tool woodworking is still required on almost every project that is built. Students use block planes and jack planes to smooth wood. They use files for rough shaping and refine using various grits of sandpaper and shop made sanding tools. \r\n\r\nThe chisels will be used for hinge installation and lock installation. The dowel absorbs moisture out of the glue to create a joint that is stronger than the wood itself. \r\n\r\nThe students were very excited to receive the kit . The clamps are well made. We have set of 24 inch Irwin quick grip clamps in the shop too. The 24 inch clamps are used daily for various clamping operations.
