During a recent project, students used the Exactor to measure, mark, and check their work before making each cut, resulting in greater accuracy and increased confidence. Having this versatile tool within easy reach has helped our students stay organized and work more independently throughout the shop.\r\n\r\nThe excitement was immediate when the tools arrived. Students were amazed that one tool could perform so many different jobs, and they eagerly found a place for it in their tool belts alongside their pencils and tape measures. Carrying the Exactor with them has helped them develop professional work habits while reinforcing the importance of keeping essential tools organized and accessible.\r\n\r\nAs we continue building woodworking skills, the Exactor will be used on nearly every project—from laying out cutting lines to checking measurements before assembly. These tools allow me to teach students how professional woodworkers rely on precision, efficiency, and organization to produce quality work. These precision tools have become an essential part of our lessons as students learn how to measure accurately, mark straight lines, and check for square corners before making each cut. One of our favorite moments was watching students carefully lay out the pieces for their first woodworking projects with confidence, proudly comparing their measurements and helping one another achieve professional-quality results. Many of our students with special needs were especially excited because the larger, easy-to-read rulers made measuring less frustrating and helped them work more independently.\r\n\r\nWhen the T-squares arrived, the classroom was filled with excitement. Students immediately wanted to hold them, compare the different sizes, and talk about how \"real carpenters use these tools.\" Seeing authentic, professional-grade equipment made them feel like true craftspeople and motivated them to take greater pride in their work.\r\n\r\nAs we continue through the school year, these T-squares will be used in increasingly advanced woodworking projects, including furniture, storage boxes, and decorative woodworking pieces.
