My students are the most fun, creative, innovative people I know. They are scientists, explorers, inventors, poets, performers, entertainers, musicians, artists, and comedians. Many of them fall in many of these categories and they love to CREATE!
Our classroom is a place where inspiration takes flight!
My students love to learn about new approaches to making art. We take virtual field trips to different places around the world and learn about the Art and cultures from the places we visit. We learn about different tools and techniques from all across the globe. They are inspired by stories about kids who take risks and think outside the box. My students love experimenting with new materials and taking the seeds of inspiration and formulate their own projects with meaning, purpose, and reflection.
My Project
The human spirit is one of ability, perseverance and courage that no disability can steal away! All my students come to Art with the innate desire to CREATE! Help my Adaptive Art students be successful in the Art room by helping provide flexible seating on wobble chairs, Makerspace centers with building sets, kinetic sand, Play-Doh, sensory tools, and Adaptive supplies such as no spill paint cups, loop scissors, and dot markers!
My students disABILITIES aren't something that need to be fixed, they are SUPERPOWERS that they need to be taught how to use!
My students will learn how to regulate their emotions and use these tools to stay focused and invested in their creations! With these modifications, they will be able to show their learning, while letting their ABILITIES shine! These supplies and tools will transform our Art room into an inclusive environment where ALL students won't just succeed...they will flourish!
