Help Students Sparkle

Help me give my students math games and materials such as pencils, crayons, headphones (for online work), a projector for outdoor movie days (incentives for working hard, good behavior, etc.) math posters, Lysol, scissors, etc.

My Students

I teach three different fifth grade math classes with between 17 and 19 in each class. I have at least three English Language Learner/Migrant students in my class. It is amazing to watch them learn and grow throughout the year. We have been able to release quite a few students so that they are not on the programs because of their willingness to learn! All of the students were so excited to be back in a classroom after the pandemic and they have overcome many challenges this year - whether it was learning how to behave in a classroom again, or learning the math that was difficult for them over the course of the two years that they were doing online school. They have shown me so much willingness to participate and their bright faces and optimistic attitudes have made this challenging year, very bright!

My Project

We are in need of Lysol wipes to keep the classroom clean. These wipes are used at least three times daily between classes so we go through a lot!

We need scissors, pencils, crayons, etc.

because students at our school often come with little to no materials for class.

I would like math games and a projector for fun activities students can enjoy as a class. We could play math jeopardy, or watch movies as incentives for good behavior, good grades, etc.

I would like math posters for students to use to remember their information they are taught, as well as border to spruce up the classroom and make it more fun and inviting! I want to pair the wood border with some pastel backdrops to bring the classroom to life!

The large scissors would be nice when modeling for students.

We also need headphones for online work. Students use their computers daily in math class and the fun colors on the headphones would make students excited about putting them on.

All of these items are crucial to the students' learning because we use most of these materials everyday. Often times, these students don't bring anything with them to school and the teachers have to supply the students with the material. We spend a great deal of money so that the students have what they need to learn, but unfortunately, they often times get misplaced or broken.

I felt that getting a projector would be exciting for the students. I thought it would be a fun end of year party so that the students could watch a movie and eat popcorn. I thought we could also play math games like jeopardy on them.

These kids need things in their classroom to be successful. I appreciate any contribution!
