Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, I work with students who are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences. Many of them are being raised in single-parent households and receive a free lunch based on their socioeconomic status. However, despite their circumstances, they love to learn and I'm trying to create an environment where they'll be competitive in all aspects of digital learning and computer science.

My Project

Shapegrams will allow students to get acclimated to graphic design. The nice thing about Shapegrams is that students do not need prior experience to jump right in and begin to create things. Each Shapegram has an instructional video and design tips for learning to use drawing tools. Learn how to do something new in each Shapegram to build skills over time.

My students need a way to express their creativity while engaging in remote learning.

Shapegrams helps by tiering instruction and providing video tutorials to teach students how to both efficiently and effectively use Google Drawings.
