This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are creative, thoughtful, and full of questions! They love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! Each day, they come to school ready to try new things and take brave chances to grow both personally and academically.
Our school is nestled in the heart of Brooklyn, East New York.
Each child in my classroom loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly. We incorporate various learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met right where they are! They are indeed an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have a new group of learners excited and ready to learn each year!
My Project
Our Prekindergarten classroom is in need of new materials. They are learning through play and exploration.
The dishes and cups will be used for the students to act out and participate in conversations with their peers.
They are wonderful students and make do with what we have available, they have been using pot lids as plates and pretend to have forks while creating their meals.
They will be learning about how to properly set a table. With dishes and utensils. I feel that exposure to the way to set a table will greatly benefit them in their home lives.
