My Project

I don't believe students should be sitting at their desks all day, and neither should their teacher. We want to be up and moving around the classroom all day long. It promotes healthy activity, and it gets the blood flowing, especially to their brains.

Please help us get a roller cart for our classroom!

This would allow for teaching to move all around the classroom, as well as the hallways on our floor. I find it important to do some work on our carpet, at my work table, and even on the floor at times. I can roll the cart to wherever we are having the lesson. It provides a large board where the students can see from anywhere. It can hang anchor charts, posters, magnetic letters and numbers, calendar charts, and so many other essential parts of our day.

The size is perfect for the age group that I work with. Allowing students to move about the classroom and work in more than just their desk area provides flexibility in their learning. This is especially important for my students with extra needs (IEP). It breaks up the monotony of the day, moving to another physical space, but the cart and board provide for continued access to the learning we are doing. What we need can go on the shelf, and we move around as we see fit.
