Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Staying Healthy upon return to our buildings is key to students and their learning. With budget cuts happening I am seeking supplies to help us keep our students healthy and learning.
My students are active learners who want to explore issues that are important to them, their lives, and their futures and are eager to get back into their classrooms.
They are looking forward to getting back in our school building and learning in person (for part of the week at least). We want them to have the best and safest Senior Year possible.
My Project
My students watched family members and friends suffer with the effects of Covid-19 - some of them even having the virus themselves. Many of them come from low-income neighborhoods and they all travel to school by public transportation such as subways and buses.
By having supplies such as cleaning wipes and paper towels available we can keep high touch surfaces and items (like our Chromebooks) that will have to be shared as sanitary as possible.
Having extra masks on hand will also help keep students in school and not being sent home for not having one. We want nothing more then to have our students have the best Senior Year possible. While it will not be the same due to social distancing rules, we want them to be able to continue to come to school in person and learn.
