This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Classroom dividers are a crucial necessity for special education settings. We have children who like to climb, jump, and get into areas that they shouldn't. Having dividers will also keep them out of areas where they might consume inedible items.

For students with sensory processing disorders, autism spectrum disorder, or attention challenges, the traditional open classroom can be a source of overwhelming stimulation.

Dividers act as a physical and visual buffer, significantly reducing visual clutter and muffling auditory distractions. This allows us to establish distinct, clearly defined zones within a single room, such as a quiet, one-on-one instruction area, a sensory-calming corner, and a small group workspace. By minimizing environmental triggers, dividers help students regulate their sensory input, reduce anxiety, and focus more effectively on individualized tasks or therapeutic activities without the constant disruption of peripheral movement and noise.
