I teach 19 preschool children with varying levels and abilities. I have a diverse group of students who reflect multiple languages and cultures. I have a great opportunity to work with families and students who bring a unique perspective to the classroom and change how I view the world.
They are all unique in their strengths and enjoy working together to help each other learn.
My students love sharing stories about topics that interest them and LOVE music and movement time in the classroom. My students are builders and artists who are not afraid to let their imaginations carry them away.
Our class is in need of some dolls, who represent preschoolers, in our classroom. These dolls represent different ethnicities and different abilities. The dolls will be used along with our equipment with special needs. We will be able to discuss how children with special needs learn.
The dolls help us to promote acceptance of children who differ from them.
Maybe they need a walker or wheelchair to get around. We, the teachers, want to teach our children how to accept people who might be a different color or have a different ability outside of what they are use to. Please consider helping us out in this endeavor.
