My Project

One of my biggest goals each year is to help my students become confident readers and maybe even develop a love for reading. Many of my students come to me as struggling readers. Every year, I am impressed with how hard they are willing to work to fill in those gaps and see how much they grow. My hope is to provide the students with a safe and fun place to learn! Over the years, I have worked very hard at providing my students with hands-on learning experiences and turning our classroom into our "Home Sweet Classroom!"

This year, my students absolutely love independent reading time.

For some of my students, I literally cannot get them to put the books down! I guess this is a good problem to have. Graphic novels are a huge hit in our classroom and some of their favorite series are Goosebumps, Babysitters Club, and Pokémon. I would like to add some of the newer books from these series to our library to keep their interest going!
