At Woodmere Elementary School we offer unicycling to boys and girls in grades 2-5. These kids are awesome! They are hard working, committed and focused.
This great sport was introduced to them in a physical education class.
I love helping each student improve their skills and gain confidence in their abilities. Unicycling is hard but teaches so many life lessons including perseverance, patience, and focus.
We will begin unicycle practice once a week in October. Students that learn to ride will earn a t-shirt and have the opportunity to ride in the Junior Rose Parade in June. They will also be part of our school wide performance which will also be in June.
Unicycle helmets will keep my students safe. At my school students earn the responsibility of borrowing a unicycle for the entire school year.
I want to make sure that they are always wearing a helmet.
When they take their unicycle home I will be able to also give them a helmet to ensure their safety. This will give me peace of mind.
I would also like to have some helmets at school so when they come to unicycle practice they will always have a helmet available just in case they forgot theirs at home. Keeping students safe is my top priority.
