In our school, we have children from many different backgrounds, but most students come from supportive families. Kindergarten is such an exciting grade to teach, because for many students, this is their first time in a school setting, which can create a wide range of needs.
As a kindergarten teacher, it is my duty to provide a safe, loving, educational environment for every student that walks through the door.
Despite any challenges my students face, it is my responsibility to provide the best, most meaningful learning experiences for all of my students. They are met with a loving, colorful, growth minded classroom and a teacher who believes in them despite any challenges they may face.
My Project
We were blessed at the end of the year to receive a cart of computers to share with our teammates. My class is still in need of headphones to help them gain the 21st century technology skills needed for them to be successful throughout their educational career. When 20 computers are sounding off, it can be a big distraction for everyone.
If every student has their own headphones, they will be able to stay focused, hear the information needed to gain knowledge, and answer questions to the best of their ability without distraction!
Not only does this allow students to solidify their learning and technology skills, but those who are on grade level have an opportunity to extend their learning with enriching activities. We take our mandated tests on the computer, so the earlier we can prepare them, the better to rule out inexperience with technology and focus on the learning.
