I have chosen a variety of both fiction and non-fiction texts for my students to not only enjoy, but have the opportunity to make connections, comprehend, and further their knowledge on certain topics in our classroom. These books will allow my students to not only make connections, but to practice their reading strategies, apply vocabulary knowledge, and observe great examples of writing with voice. I have had the opportunity to teach multiple grade levels in which I have noticed that students who have difficulty with reading sometimes want to give up or avoid reading. These wonderful titles will not only draw my students in, but will help me in showing students how much fun it is to stick with our goals and enjoy a great book!
