My Project

I teach at a school in a large, urban district. Our students are well below poverty level and we have many that live without basic necessities such as water, heat and electricity. Despite some of my students' home situations, they all have a great desire to learn and achieve. My students are well-meaning 6-8th graders who would love the opportunity to be equal to other kids their age.

My students need earbuds and a lock box for their headphones.

In our day and age, cell phones are often people's lifelines. My students need a place to put their cell phones that they know will be safe during their learning. They also need earbuds for the school year for all of their computer programs on their devices.

Making sure my students get what they need will make it easier for them to concentrate on their assignments without fear that their cell phones will be taken. Having the earbuds will ensure that every student comes through my class and gets their own pair of headphones to use. They will always be able to use them for whatever assignments and research they are currently completing.
