Using the adapted books and visual cues, students were able to actively engage with the story—pointing to pictures, matching symbols, and participating in ways that were previously challenging. It was incredible to see their confidence grow as they successfully followed along.\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their excitement was immediate. The clear visuals and hands-on components captured their attention right away. Many of my students rely on visual supports to understand routines and expectations, so these resources have made learning more accessible and enjoyable for them.\r\nThese tools are already having a powerful impact. Visuals help reduce frustration, increase communication, and support comprehension. With these new materials, I am also able to create individualized schedules for each student, which is helping build independence and consistency throughout the day\r\nAs we move forward, we will continue building adaptive books and expanding our use of visual supports across all subject areas. Our next steps include creating personalized literacy activities and daily schedules that reflect each student's goals. I have been so busy, I totally missed sending my thank yous! Thank you so much for our 3d printer and filament. \r\n\r\nWe have been busy learning! We have figured out how to print models that other people have made. I do have a few students who have surpassed that and have been able to make original models that they have created. \r\n\r\nIt has been amazing to learn WITH the students! I have not ever used one myself, so this has been a learning challenge for all of us. We have been able to successfully print some hand made keychains, a campsite, a group of friendship rings, some articulated sharks and even some magestic mustang statues. \r\n\r\nWe will continue to learn how to create models of all kids of different objects. The materials you helped provide for my students are not simply books, but they are tools for learning, growth, and connection. \r\n\r\nBooks help my students with develop social-emotional understanding. With A Little Spot of Emotions, they are learning to identify, name, and express their feelings - a critical skill for both communication and regulation - in a way that is engaging for them. We've had meaningful conversations about how emotions can feel different in our bodies and things we can do to regulate emotions when they get to be too much. \r\n\r\nOther books purchased, such as Biscuit Goes to School and Herman the Helper, are helping my students develop important foundational skills such as early language development and vocabulary, perspective-taking, and problem solving. Repetition in books help children understand story sequencing, make predictions, and give them the ability to use complete sentences to describe what they know from the story with confidence.\r\n\r\nThese books, along with all of the other therapy materials provided from this project, have made my sessions more engaging and effective for my students. We have been busy learning lots of new procedures for our new supplies! I have our calculators separated and labeled by number so the students can easily find theirs. My students that have calculators as a tool in their IEPs have been using them more often than the other students.
